Joseph Ghorayeb is the Chief Executive Officer as of September 2023 and previously has been the Country Head of Wholesale Banking HSBC Bank Middle East Limited, Kingdom of Bahrain since January 2022.
Joseph joined HSBC Group in 2006 as a Coverage Banker in Canada. He relocated to the Middle East with HSBC in 2010 to take up the role of Sector Head of Multinationals, MENA. Over the last 14 years, Joseph has been based with HSBC in the Middle East and has undertaken a number of roles including Head of UAE Multinationals of HSBC Bank Middle East Limited, UAE between 2012 and 2014, then from June 2014 to June 2016 as a Senior Banker covering the State of Qatar Petrochemicals, Infrastructure and General Industries Verticals and lately in Bahrain, Joseph and his team are responsible for the coverage of the Public Sector and Government Related Entities, Multinationals, Large Corporates & Mid Markets, Non-Bank Financial Institutions and Financial Institutions.
Joseph is a qualified Aerodynamics Engineer, holds an MBA (Finance) from McGill University and is a CFA Charterholder.
